Given the popularity of food horror these days, it was probably only a matter of time before someone would watch the reality show format and be like, “OK, but what if we made it a little scary?”
With its intro “Let’s play a little game” and black mirroranimated chef’s hat mascot, secret boss is here to do just that. The contestants wake up in their own little kitchen pods, and the twist is that they must cook in secret, then judge each other anonymously using secret codenames while the all-seeing CGI hat gives them directions.
On the positive side, there is East a $100,000 prize to sweeten the deal.
secret boss airs on Hulu starting June 29.
