A selection of paintings by Cleveland, Ohio based artist Dan Isaac Bortz. Bortz runs Time Change Generator, a studio specializing in hand-printed textiles. His personal work is metaphorical, but not always specific to a single message. While occasionally referencing his own dreams or personal anxieties, Bortz’s ultimate goal is to convey his enthusiasm for life in a way that sparks similar creative energy in others:
“I want to encourage the imagination. When we use our imaginations more effectively, it opens the possibility of having relationships with each other. Imagination breeds empathy. The images I make are doubles for my internal dialogue. They end up showing me how I really feel. These are snapshots of quick conclusions and journal entries that I want you to read.
