A selection of paintings by Parisian artist Inès Longevial (previously featured here). Working primarily around self-portraiture, Longevial approaches painting as problem-solving, attempting to capture feelings and emotions projected onto skin. Longevial was devoted to drawing from an early age and was particularly interested in the “pleasure of color and the part it occupies in our lives”. Her faces and bodies appear like landscapes in a dreamlike universe, reflecting variations of light, shadow and sensation in an act of self-affirmation. Check out more of Longevial’s work below.
